Are you sure you’ve thought of everything?

What better than advice from professional movers to prepare your move properly?

Our tips and tricks

1

Change of address

Remember the practical formalities for changing address: phone line, closing and opening water, gas and electricity accounts (there are specific forms with the relevant companies), notifying the municipality of your new address, identity card, post office,…

2

Important documents

Keep all your important documents (identity card, passport, keys, diplomas, bank documents, medical files, employment contract,…) in a box kept in a specific place.

3

Labels and practical move organisation

Label your items (furniture, boxes,…) clearly with where they should be unloaded. Where possible, guide the movers and show them where your furniture should be placed.

4

Qualified staff

Avoid using unqualified help for your move whenever your budget allows. Moving is a skilled trade that requires expertise!

5

Unplugging the refrigerator

Plug your refrigerator and freezer back in 24 hours after the move.

6

Moving boxes

Use proper moving boxes so they can be stacked evenly in the truck. This makes the movers’ work easier and saves loading time. The recommended maximum weight is 30 kg per box.

7

No-parking zones

Arrange a no-parking zone with the local police. You can also ask your mover to do this for you.

8

No-parking zones

Arrange a no-parking zone with the local police. You can also ask your mover to do this for you.

9

Furniture dismantling

If you dismantle and reassemble wardrobes yourself, keep all parts (screws, keys, fittings,…) in an envelope, for example. Remember to number the detached pieces.

10

Property inspection

Carry out a property inspection when moving in and moving out.
